BaconBit: Doctor Strange Review

Throw on your cape and trim your goatee, it's time for our review of Doctor Strange! Baconsale is ready to talk about the 14th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and determine if Benedict Cumberbatch (or Benedict "Cumberbutton," as Jacob calls him) is the right fit for the role of Dr. Stephen Strange. 
As always, the first 10 minutes of this review are spoiler-free! It's not until the last half when we talk about the ending of the movie where Batman punches Darth Vader in the face to save Hermione Granger. Wait....

Episode 81: Escape from the Great Room Escape

Ready? Set? Go! In this episode, we talk about our experience taking our contest winner to The Great Room Escape. And since we our mission was to get out of the escape room in under an hour, we decided to keep this episode under an hour, as well. Don't worry, we don't give any spoilers about the puzzles and clues in the room -- we mostly just talk about Joel feeling mostly useless in the room and Kent jump-dancing away from the zombie.

Episode 80: The Fearamid (Part 2)

We’re finishing off the final few categories of the Fearamid, which includes things like phobias, creepy locations and even Kate Beckinsale. Then it’s time to create the ultimate Fearamid! Will a shark be declared the most frightening thing ever without discussion just because Joel and Kent seem to wet themselves whenever sharks are mentioned?

Episode 79: The Fearamid (Part 1)

Beware the Fearamid! Jacob has created a series of terrifying categories, such as animals, movie monsters and natural disasters, and it’s up to Kent and Joel to decide what belongs at the top of each pyramid of fear (Hey! That’s where the name “Fearamid” comes from!). Is Pennywise the Clown scarier than Dracula? Is a giant spider less terrifying than a giant mosquito? Is being abducted by aliens worse than being held captive by a cult? These are the decisions we have to make on this episode of Baconsale!

A word of caution before you press play: things get a tad gruesome at times on this episode. Subjects such as death, dismemberment, maulings and cannibalism are discussed. It’s still done in our usual humorous tone, but you may not want to listen to this episode with your young, impressionable children. Joel made us write this part.

Episode 78: Behind the Screams of Haunted Houses

It doesn't matter whether you call them haunted houses, haunted attractions or spook alleys, the industry of scaring people is big business. And our special guest in this episode, Greg Andersen, has been in that business for almost 30 years. He has worked in such haunts as Rocky Point, Castle of Chaos and, currently, The Great Room Escape. So, of course, Baconsale spends most of the time asking him random questions and making fun of each other. Episode 77: From Pee-wee to Peregrine - Tiering Tim Burton

Attend the tale of Baconsale!

Let us ease you into the Halloween spirit with an episode all about one of the most macabre modern film directors, Tim Burton. Kent and Joel have watched all of the movies that Burton has directed to date and they are now ready to rank each one on a three-tier scale. Along the way, Joel shares Tim Burton stats, such as how many times Burton has actually used Johnny Depp in his films, Kent drools over Eva Green (or is it Large Marge?), and Jacob giggles at the name Frankenweenie.

Episode 76: What Would Baconsale Do?

Delve deep into the twisted psyche of Jacob as he presents a series of hypothetical questions designed to delight Kent and disturb Joel. These psychological experiments include a series of "would you rather" questions, a "what's in the shopping cart" section and other anxiety-inducing personality tests intended to analyze the minds of the Baconsale boys.

Episode 75: The Baconsale Pitch Project

As we all know, most franchise reboots are the spawn of Satan himself sent to ruin movies and destroy lives. However, some sequels (like Mad Max: Fury Road and Jurassic World) have helped to revitalize an otherwise dead film series. Therefore, much to Kent's delight, he and Joel have each been tasked to come up with three sequel pitches that could resurrect an old franchise, if only Hollywood would listen. While Jacob spends most of the time complaining about how Sam Raimi pronounces his name and how he missed out on a certain comedy/horror movie during his childhood.

Also, WARNING: We say "hell" a lot in this episode. However, don't worry, we're mostly talking about the place, so it's in context and Joel still considers it family friendly.

Episode 74: Soundtrack and Feels

Hear that? That's the sound of Kent and Joel discussing great movie music. They spend the first little bit arguing about scores versus soundtracks, actually, but then they get into the categories such as the best animated score, iconic 90s soundtrack, the film soundtrack everyone had and the best scores from John Williams and Danny Elfman (or Elf-Man, as Jacob calls him).

Episode 73: The Pilot Program

Because the fall season is fast approaching, Baconsale is ready to talk about their favorite pilots! Amelia Earhart, Charles Lindbergh, Chelsey Sullenberger....wait, I am being informed that they are actually talking about TV show pilots (yes, that joke get used A LOT in this episode). Kent, Joel and Jacob have each prepared their lists of the top five television pilots of all time, and yet they spend a bunch of time talking about our restroom etiquette show and Jennifer Garner's wigs.
