Episode 30: This Show is a Nightmare!

It's heeeeere! Our final Halloween episode of the month! Do you like scary movies? We sure do! And the Baconsale team will guide you through the netherworld of horror films and let you know which ones are worth watching. We discuss the best paranormal movies, the best horror movies to watch on a date, the scariest movies for kids and many more categories. Plus, Jacob is there to quiz Kent and Joel on their scary movie savviness. 
So place Mother in the cellar, put on your hockey mask, dish up some fava beans with a nice chianti and enjoy this latest episode of Baconsale. Oh, and whatever you do, don't fall asleep. Don't even blink.

Episode 28: The Psychology of Fear

Do you know why you're afraid when you're alone? We do. . .we do. . .

This episode of Baconsale features our very special guest, Dr. Matt Woolley. Dr. Matt is a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical-Community Psychology and he's a professor at the University of Utah. . .so of course we had to ask him about movie monsters.

We try and find out what makes Freddy tick, what's going on behind Jason's hockey mask and if there's any chance of rehabilitation for Michael Myers. Along the way, we discuss why people enjoy being scared, if watching horror movies can mess you up, and Joel, Kent and Jacob reveal some of their deepest and darkest fears. Episode 26: End of 2015 Movie Preview

Now that 2015 is winding down to a close, Baconsale wants to make sure that you know what movies you should see (besides Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens). Joel, Kent and Jacob discuss what films they are excited for (aside from Star Wars 7) and surprise each other with their choices (except for The Force Awakens, we all knew that was coming). Let us prepare you for the fall/winter/end of 2015 (and Star Wars), Baconsale-style!

We attempt to explain how this low-budget British television program became a pop culture phenomenon, and where those that are interested can begin their journey (with or without a companion).

Episode 24: The M. Night Show-malan

If your sixth sense is tingling, then it's probably one of the signs that there's a new Baconsale episode coming to your unbreakable village. This week we're talking about the works of M. Night Shyamalan, and trying to figure out when and how he went from being one of the most acclaimed directors in Hollywood to a punchline in a joke about bad movies.

PLOT TWIST! Since Jacob is on vacation, Emily Mackay, from the War Machine vs. War Horse podcast is here to help Kent and Joel argue with each other.

Episode 23: Cable, IMAX, Erase

We have to make some tough decisions in this episode of Baconsale as we play "Cable, IMAX, Erase." It is a totally original game that has nothing to do with that other game you're thinking of right now...

 

In this game, Jacob gives Kent and Joel three different movies, and they have to choose which on they'd watch on repeat, which one they'd watch only on special occasions and which one they'd erase from existence.

 

Listen to Joel and Kent struggle (while Jacob laughs sadistically) as they must make the dreaded Sophie's Choice with some of their favorite films. These truly are some of the hardest and impactful decisions they'll ever make! Maybe you should help bear the weight and play along.

Episode 22: Fast Food for Thought

What are you eating today? It's time for Baconsale to think outside the bun and talk about fast food in a super-sized episode.

Joel and Kent are going to review, rank and rate your favorite hot eats and cool treats. This finger lickin' episode is so fresh, you'll be singing "I'm lovin' it!" in no time! You may not agree with us on our ratings, but that's fine -- have it your way! After all, America runs on conflict.

Episode 21: Straight Outta Pork and Beans

Let's get musical, musical! No, we're not talking Andrew Lloyd Webber versus Stephen Sondheim (though that could be a fun topic for a future show), we're talking about which rock, pop and country stars deserve their own biopic. Kent and Joel pitch biographical films about famous musical artists and it's up to Jacob (yes, that Jacob) to decide whether he would green-light the movies.

At the very least, we hope to be more entertaining than Ray.
