If your sixth sense is tingling, then it's probably one of the signs that there's a new Baconsale episode coming to your unbreakable village. This week we're talking about the works of M. Night Shyamalan, and trying to figure out when and how he went from being one of the most acclaimed directors in Hollywood to a punchline in a joke about bad movies.

PLOT TWIST! Since Jacob is on vacation, Emily Mackay, from the War Machine vs. War Horse podcast is here to help Kent and Joel argue with each other.

We have to make some tough decisions in this episode of Baconsale as we play "Cable, IMAX, Erase." It is a totally original game that has nothing to do with that other game you're thinking of right now...

 

In this game, Jacob gives Kent and Joel three different movies, and they have to choose which on they'd watch on repeat, which one they'd watch only on special occasions and which one they'd erase from existence.

 

Listen to Joel and Kent struggle (while Jacob laughs sadistically) as they must make the dreaded Sophie's Choice with some of their favorite films. These truly are some of the hardest and impactful decisions they'll ever make! Maybe you should help bear the weight and play along.

Joel and Kent are going to review, rank and rate your favorite hot eats and cool treats. This finger lickin' episode is so fresh, you'll be singing "I'm lovin' it!" in no time! You may not agree with us on our ratings, but that's fine -- have it your way! After all, America runs on conflict.

Let's get musical, musical! No, we're not talking Andrew Lloyd Webber versus Stephen Sondheim (though that could be a fun topic for a future show), we're talking about which rock, pop and country stars deserve their own biopic. Kent and Joel pitch biographical films about famous musical artists and it's up to Jacob (yes, that Jacob) to decide whether he would green-light the movies.

At the very least, we hope to be more entertaining than Ray.

Round 1 of our Heroes Bracket took up an entire episode, but we manage to get through rounds 2, 3 and 4 in this, part two, of our Tournament of Heroes. In this debate, should Kent and Joel agree on a winner, they automatically advance. However, if they disagree on who would be victorious, it is up to Jacob to decide who moves on to the next round.

This episode sees epic battles such as Captain America versus Iron Man, Optimus Prime versus the Terminator and Kent's informed opinion versus logical reasoning. And yes, in the end, we will declare one of these heroes the ultimate winner.

Admit it, you've wondered at least once in your life "Who would win in a fight, Gandalf or The Silver Surfer?" So we decided to put some random hero match-ups to the test. Jacob created a bracket of sci-fi and fantasy heroes, and it's up to Joel and Kent to debate and decide who wins each bout. Since we had approximately 50 heroes to discuss, we only got through the first round this time around, but we'll be back to finish it off next week.

We decided to take a break from our usual topics of movies and television to discuss something truly important: politics. Ha! Just kidding! We're going to talk about video games -- specifically, the pre-PlayStation era. This episode is dedicated to the games we love, the games we hate and the games our parents wouldn't let us buy, so we'd have to go over to our friend's house to play them. Be sure to listen because you'll hear a strange revelation about Joel's secret past!

After nine set-up/standalone superhero movies and two Avengers movies, Marvel finally gives us a set-up/standalone movie about the superhero who actually started the Avengers. Ant-Man may be doing quite well at the box office, but can it also do well with Kent, the Marvel hater, Joel, the Marvel apologist and Jacob, the Marvel flip-flopper?
